Questions people ask first
How do you check that an expert is who they say they are?
Experts submit identity and credential documents, and a person on the Shai team reviews them before the Verified badge appears. It is never granted automatically.
When am I charged?
At checkout, when you send your question. For live calls with experts who confirm bookings manually, the charge is only completed once they accept.
What if the expert never answers?
You're refunded in full, automatically, once their response window passes. You don't need to open a dispute or contact support to get it.
Can I ask a follow-up?
Yes. Follow-ups are asked as a new question, so the expert is paid for the extra work and you keep the original answer.
How do experts get paid?
Through Stripe, after the answer is delivered. Shai keeps a commission on each answer, which is what funds running the marketplace.
Is my question private?
Your question is visible to the expert you send it to and to Shai staff who handle support and moderation. It is not published on your profile.
